Cha de bugre is brewed in large drums during festivals in Brazil and the people consume it to sustain their energy through the night. Cha de bugre is a very clean energy, the caffeine levels are surprisingly low, yet the effects at a 500mg dose was the same as "2 Venti Starbucks." It is known to contain naturally occurring caffeine, potassium, allantoin and allantoic acid. Allantoin and allantoic acid may explain the traditional use for wound healing. They are reported to help support healthy body fat levels and preserve muscle tissue. The tea has been used traditionally to support renal function, uric acid levels and use to support the body's ability to heal external wounds.

Suggested Use:
The traditional preparation is to infuse 1 teaspoon into a tea and drink 30 minutes prior to a meal. You may also mix 1 teaspoon with juice, yogurt or add to your favorite smoothie. Some people find Cha de Bugre to have a stimulative effect so it is best not taken before bedtime.

Other preparations:

Infusion: Use the ratio of 1 tablespoon of product for every 8 ounces of distilled water. Bring water to a boil and then take off stove. Put tea in pot or a mug fill with water and cover for 15 minutes. (This method is specific for whole leaf herbs and teas)

Decoction: Use the ratio of 1 tablespoon of herb for every 10 ounces of water. Put all ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover & lower to a simmer for 20-30 minutes. Turn the heat off and allow the mixture to sit for another 10 minutes. Strain and serve (this method is specific for barks and roots).

Tincture: This method can take 15 to 30 days. You will need 3 items (mason jar with cover, the herb/herbs of your choice, liquid for extracting). The extracting liquid can be alcohol, alcohol/ water combo, vinegar or vegetable glycerin. Take the product and fill the jar ¾ full, add the liquid of your choice and close the jar. Then shake the jar so everything is well mixed. Give the jar a good 5 minute shake, several times a day. After 15 to 30 days strain and bottle in glass tincture jars.

Mixing suggestion: To increase flavor and nutritional profile combine with our lou han guo 7% extract powder.
