I3C works against hormone-induced cancers while sulforaphane boosts the production of cancer-blocking enzymes. Broccoli has been linked to reducing the risk of certain cancers, especially lung, colon, prostate, breast, ovarian, and, more recently, bladder cancer. Further, these naturally occurring compounds in broccoli, already shown to fight cancer in cells, may also be able to reduce risk of high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and stroke.
