Restless Legs SyndromeGreen icon of someone's legs because of restless leg syndrome

Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a complex neurological disorder typified by a compulsive need to move the lower extremities, frequently accompanied by unsettling sensations. These symptoms predominantly manifest during periods of inactivity or nocturnal rest. Clinical studies, including those from Johns Hopkins Medicine, have implicated iron deficiency as a significant etiological factor (NIH, 2021). However, NIH data indicates that merely 15% of RLS patients display such deficiencies, suggesting the involvement of subclinical tissue-level imbalances. Within the Traditional Chinese Medicine paradigm, RLS is theorized to emanate from a depletion of blood Yin and Xue, crucial for systemic and cerebral relaxation (TCM, 2020). Regulatory anomalies in liver blood and yin are hypothesized to modulate nocturnal leg activity, as corroborated by FDA and USDA studies (FDA, 2019; USDA, 2020). The multifactorial etiology necessitates personalized therapeutic approaches, further substantiated by patents registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
